Label Ideas

When I was organizing the Staples Collection, I really struggled to define categories. Below is what I came up with. But if you all have other suggestions, please post or modify. It's probably just easiest if we try to use the same one, so our label list doesn't include "Soups," "Soup," "Soups and Stews," etc.

Can't wait to see all the new eats!!

Appetizers
Breads
Breakfast & Brunch
Desserts
Fish & Shellfish
Meat-Beef
Meat-Buffalo
Meat-Pork
Miscellaneous
Pasta
Poultry (I had turkey and chicken broken out, but maybe that's not necessary?)
Salads & Dressings
Side Dishes (This was a problematical one. Should there be a Veggies (sides) category as well? I just put all sides in here.)
Soups & Stews
Vegetarian Main Dishes

*List is updated to add Breakfast & Brunch category.
Which ones should we change? What should we add/delete?

What about breakfast dishes? Should we add that category? Everything else looks great! Thanks again.

I love that idea, Jade. Brunch is my favorite meal!

I also have casseroles in my personal sorting system. But I suppose those dishes could fit into "vegetarian" or a certain meat place. I just find it easier to look for them in casseroles. But what do you think?

I like the casserole label, too. Thanks for adding the breakfast label! :)

Of course, now that you're part Minnesotan, you might have to start using the term "hot dish." Is that used in Kansas too? Or just Up Nort'?

We need "grains" too.

If we enter a cassarole, we could always add a 2nd tag "veg" or "meat" etc. to specify.

I've never heard it called a "hot dish"... must be MN!

Great list, Kjirsten! I agree w/everything above, and that turkey & chicken can be combined. Thanks for all of this!!
